Middlemarch mining camp
was located in the middle pass of the Dragoon
mountains about 6 miles southwest of Pearce. "Said to have been the "middle
march" of the military in early days between Fort Bowie and Fort Huachuca.
It was named for "The Middlemarch Copper Company" which operated here
for several years.
Post office established May 10, 1898.
All that is left at this
location are some rock walls, scattered debris and an old dump.
Located off a dirt road, nice scenic drive
