Russellville was a camp of about 100 people that sprang into existence
around the Peabody mine. There were many women and families present which made
Russellville a law abiding town. There was a general store, blacksmith shop, saloons,
restaurants, and more. When the town of Johnson came into existence in 1883, the town of
Russellville picked up and moved and Russellville was abandoned.
